I'll probably get a guide gun next year, or the year after, as i do want one for bear hunting. Btw this #1 45/70 shoots perty darn good. I want a longer range gun than a lever action, for elk and buffalo.
I would like to trade it for a small bore small case rifle, something like a 22 hornet, or 218 bee, 25/20 or even a 222 or 221. Is one of the nation's leading manufacturers of rugged, reliable firearms for the commercial sporting market. Thank you ahead of time and any help is appreciated.

Ruger #3 45/70 recoil what i did was replace the carbine style stock with the 90 deg edges and replaced it with a ruger #1 factory stock with recoil pad. 6'2 and 250# and it does make a difference with perceived recoil. 10/22tnz 10/22 canadian centennial 10/22 laminated stock carbine 10/22 laminated stock sporter 10/22 laminated stock international 10/22 all weather.

It kept the name but is of course now a standard powder load. Sturm, ruger & co., inc. Too bad marlins aren't what they used to be or i'd already own one.
I'm trying to decide between the ruger.308 gunsite scout rifle or the marlin 1895 guide gun. That's just my take, but i'm a large man? If it was you, which would you pick and why?
I can't decide between a ruger #1 and a sharp's. For more than 70 years, ruger has been a model of corporate and community responsibility. I'm looking at getting a new rifle.
